BLBCA Photo Contest 2021 – Winners

Announcing the worthy winners

Some of our honourable mentions are highlighted below!

1st Place – Photo Submission

Summer scene – Payam M.

Congratulations to Payam M. for this wonderful photo. He and a companion will be enjoying a three-night stay at Nuk Tessli Lodge in a private cabin with full catering and use of canoes and kayaks. Self-guided.

1st Place – Written Submission

Congratulations to Ben M. for a very thoughtful, and sincere explanation of how he considers the environment when recreating in the backcountry.

“When recreating in the backcountry I understand that I am not on my land, I am on the land of the indigenous locals and the land of the wildlife who lives here. With this in mind I always aim to pack out more than I pack in. It’s so easy to attach a bag to your belt or backpack whilst recreating in a wilderness area. I am truly appreciative of nature, the air, the feelings, the sounds and emotions. These things make me eternally thankful to call BC my home. I am also a nature photographer and one my main purposes of my images is to attract people towards nature so that when they fall in love with it, they will then want to help conserve it.”

Ben will enjoy a three-night stay at Mistaya Lodge (including roundtrip helicopter flights from Golden, BC.) in a private room, fully-catered and professionally guided hikes each day.

2nd Place – Photo Submission

Ski touring – Mark E.

Congratulations to Mark E. for a great ski touring shot. He and a companion will be enjoying a two-night stay at Ice Creek Lodge in a private room with use of paddleboard. Self-catered and self-powered.
