Robson was guiding a group of ski tourers at the backcountry lodge when he was caught in the avalanche. Robson was an extremely competent and well-respected guide, very popular with his guests, peers and just a great guy. He is survived by his wife Olivia and their son, Max.
To say that the backcountry family has been tragically hit by this news would be a grave understatement. We have lost one of our own and Robson’s input, advice and support will be greatly missed. As well as owning and operating Battle Abbey with Roger Laurilla, Robson was an active member on the Backcountry Lodge of BC Association B.O.D., and was always quick in volunteering to serve on various committees, providing sage wisdom and often a fresh perspective on a number of fronts.
Today is a sad day. We have lost a friend. On behalf of the BLBCA, and all of its members and supporters, we would like to express our most sincere condolences to Robson’s family and friends. We are here for you, don’t hesitate to reach out. We will support you in whatever way we can.
