Eldorado Cabin – Winter
The Eldorado cabin is a unique piece of the portfolio for Tyax Adventures, as it is a year-round destination for mountain enthusiasts. The snow is deepest from December to April, and spaces fill up quickly.
We offer weekly heli-flights in and out From Jan 31-Mar 27th for 7-night visits. The setting provides pristine ski touring in the South Chilcotin region for experienced backcountry users looking for self-guided and self-catered adventures.
The cabin sleeps 8 people, with 6 single bunks and 2 spaces in the loft with foam pads. The cabin has essential ingredients, with a wood stove and wood, a propane cooking stove and fuel, 12V solar lights, and a kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Outside amenities include a wood-fired sauna and outhouse.  For emergency purposes, there is a Satellite phone and rescue toboggan.

Nestled amongst some of the area’s tallest and most rugged peaks combined with relatively easy access, Eldorado Cabin is the perfect layover stop on a multi-day mountain journey or the quintessential one-night stay for hikers, bikers and horseback riders looking for a quiet and remote mountain adventure.

Bear Paw
Located in the Meadows of Tyaughton Creek, between Lorna Pass and Deer Pass, Bear Paw Camp is set deeply in the heart of the mountains in a tranquil and historic location that has beckoned both people and animals for generations. Historically used as the idyllic hunting and exploration camp, Bear Paw has been restored to now be the core resting ground for backcountry travellers. Mountain bikers, hikers or horseback riders looking to get deep into the wilderness and experience the epic trails and terrain will appreciate the comforts this camp offers. Serviced only by horses, often making a two-day journey to deliver supplies, Bear Camp is a true test of logistics as it offers the welcomed comforts for those exploring this remote region. The main cabin serves as a cooking and dining area, and wall tents with beds provide a welcomed place to rest and sleeping quarters.

Spruce Lake Camp
Conveniently located on the Northeast end of Spruce Lake on Spruce Creek, this is the crossroads for many mountain routes in the South Chilcotin. Spruce Camp is our most complete and visited backcountry accommodation. Complete with hot showers, solar power, running water, fishing boats, and a complete kitchen it is well supplied via horseback and float plane, it is a welcomed reprieve from a day on the trails, allowing guests to recharge and enjoy creature comforts before the next on the trail. The main cabin serves as a cooking and dining area, and wall tents with beds provide a welcomed place to rest and sleeping quarters.

Sky Camp
Located on Crystal Lake, Sky Camp is a unique product from Tyax Adventures. It is a secluded backcountry camp, with a main log cabin, built in 2004.05, accessed only via float plane. Accommodations are wall tents, with the cabin providing a common area for meals and socializing. There is a wood-fired sauna next to the lake & hot showers. Primary activities for this location, are hiking, paddling (Canoe/Kayak/SUP) and angling.  It is truly a backcountry paradise providing simple comforts while enjoying the surrounding beauty to its fullest. The main cabin serves as a cooking and dining area, and wall tents with beds provide a welcomed place to rest and sleeping quarters.

Trigger Cabin
Located on the shores of Trigger Lake, this camp is a welcomed gift to hikers, bikers and horseback riders who need a comfortable place to call home after travelling over Deer or Warner Pass. Innocently tucked on the shore of Trigger Lake, this rustic camp provides warmth and comfort for travellers looking to refuel and recharge before hitting the trails for the next chapter of adventure on the trails of the South Chilcotin in the more remote parts of the Gun Creek drainage.
