WHAT IS A BACKCOUNTRY LODGE?
A backcountry lodge is an accommodation located in a remote wilderness area that is not typically accessible by vehicle. Lodges are used as a homebase for outdoor recreation—ski touring, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, and more—in the natural areas that surround them. A backcountry lodge experience can range from rustic to luxurious, but they are all located in mountainous areas surrounded by wildlife and stunning scenery.

Book Early
Lodges book up quickly in winter and summer—especially on long weekends and holidays.
Book your trip early and secure pre- and post-trip accommodation as soon as possible.
Choose Your Experience
Lodges offer the option of fully-guided, self-guided, fully-catered, and self-catered backcountry experiences.
Fully-guided trips are led by highly-trained, professionally-certified ACMG backcountry guides.
Be Prepared
Plan and prepare for changing and variable weather, pack appropriately, and read all pre-trip guides.
Be prepared to travel and recreate safely and responsibly in the backcountry.
